On Wednesday I had a photoshoot with Marc aka Cat_6 for an ad for my makeup line Sam Murdock Cosmetics. It was a quick shoot but Im overly happy with the results. Here are some behind the scenes photos as well as a final pic and the actual ad (above) from that day. Oh and the fabulous makeup artist that beat my face that day was Dark Lex...

This is the cover for City Scene Magazine's Premiere issue that will hit stands next month. Singer Olivia looks fabulous on it and I was so honored to have the opportunity to do her makeup. I will be adding the other pics once I get my copy of the mag and will post them here.

HI everyone,
Sorry Ive been totally MIA since Christmas...one of my new years resolution was to blog more often, preferably daily....well obviously that didn't happen, lol. Alot has happened though since the new year started. First I moved into a fabulous new apartment right on the beach...yeah me!!! lol...Ive been looking for a new place for a while (my mom says I move every year around Christmas...thats totally not true....*thinking*...ok so for the last 4 years it has been true lol)....The thing with me is that I need to always be comfortable at all times but I do get bored quite easily. I wanted a bigger apartment (I was in a 2 bedroom first, then I moved into a loft, then last year I moved into a one bedroom) and something very peaceful. Everyone who knows me knows that I am a totally Zen person. I get stressed out and frazzeled very easily, so when I come home I want a peaceful haven where I can leave the stress of the day behind...well my last apartment was not like that...it was more like Grand Central Station...so as soon as my lease was up...I said "Peace Out".
Because I'm always busy, I didn't have time to look for an apartment myself so I hired a broker. For a month, he kept showing me all these apartments...actually co-ops and condos. Then he tried to have me buy one! I was totally confused on how we went from me wanting to rent a one bedroom apartment to buying a condo. Anyhow, I was not impressed with anything that he showed me and I started to get really, really frustrated. So one day I went on craigslist and the first listing I saw was for this apartment. It was actually not what I was looking for. Its a huge 2 bedroom and a little of of my price range but I said F it...let me at least go take a look at it and start searching on my own. I went to see the apartment and instantly fell in love with it...so much so I handed the landlord my security and first month's rent on the spot. So for the last 2 weeks Ive been running around like crazy buying brand new furniture (I did say that I bore easily right? lol) and trying to decorate this place.
Besides that Im rebranding my makeup line Sam Murdock Cosmetics. I just shot an ad for it yesterday too!! Im pulling a Kimora and start starring in my own campaigns. I will still be using other models but when it comes to ads....yours truly will be gracing them...and why not? Its my *ish! LOL...Im also redoing the website and will be introducing Nail Polish to the collection!!! I know...so exciting. I am looking to focusing more on wholesaling and wil be hiring a staff (im converting that 2nd huge bedroom as an office..so that way I can work 24/7 from home....as if Im not busy enough). I will also be doing a launch party in the Spring and alot of events so stay tuned. Of course I will be posting all that stuff here first!

Merry Christmas everyone and hopefully you all had a fabulous holiday. I had a really nice day today...which started at 4am! I spent the entire day with my family. We woke up at 4am to open gifts. I received several lovely gifts including earrings, perfume, money, etc...so yea, I made out but not as good as my sister Olivia who is 9. She got everything she wanted...clothes, toys, etc. It was cool though because my mom hid all the gifts and we told her because of the recession we were cancelling Christmas this year (yeah I know, that was mean lol). But nothing beat the look on her face when she realized that we were lying lol...She was so happy and that made us all really happy. Besides that I slept most of the day. It was nice trying to catch up on some sleep for once.
Two weeks away (Dec 9th) I had a photoshoot with Hector from Hydra Multimedia (as the makeup artist). The model's name is Ziggy and we shot her on Long Island. Here are my 2 favorite shots from the shoot:

Last wednesday we shot again but this time the model was Hector's wife, Beverly. Here is a pic from that shoot.

I've been going to the EMI Christmas party for the last 4 years and always have a blast. I went earlier this week (it was held at the Highline Ballroom here in NYC) and this is what I wore:
Dress: Express
Shoes: Bakers (Farah boots)
Stockings: Victoria Secrets

Yesterday, Alicia Keys debut her jewelry line (inconjucntion with jewelry designer Gisèle Theriault) The Barber's Daughter at a pop up shop at Collette Blanchard Gallery at 26 Clinton Street here in NYC. The collection of sterling silver and gemstone pieces features poetry and prayers of Masaru Emoto, the author of “The Hidden Messages in Water” inscribed on them. “The inspiration of The Barber’s Daughters is to provide tools for people to connect to their intangible beauty and strength,” said Theriault. The line of necklaces retail from $85 to $2,500 and is also sold on thebarbersdaughters.com.
“I fell in love with the individuality of the pieces, but more than that, the words that were written on them really resonated with the songwriter in me,” said Keys. “I knew at that moment, for the first time, that through a whole other medium I would be able to spread inspiration and that’s what got me started.”
Here is a sample of the line...

Sean “Diddy” Combs will be making his debut on the HSN network Monday, November 30th from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. on behalf of his I Am King and Unforgivable fragrances. His two-hour segment will be about Diddy "sharing his beliefs behind his fragrances, why he developed them and what are the reference points.” The set will be built like a homey, living-room feeling reminiscent of a talk show in HSN’s St. Petersburg, Fla., studio.
I'm curious to see how he does because typically people like to smell fragrances before buying them, but it's Diddy..and he could probably sell ice to eskimos. Both him and HSN are hoping to break the $400,000 mark in retail sales during the two hour show and I have a strong feeling they will.
