Yesterday went really well. I didn't have time to make my own juice so I picked up a bottle of Bolthouse Amazing Mango Smoothie from my local supermarket. I loved it! It was so delicious and I liked the fact that its packed with tons of vitamins. I know that I probably should have had the Green Smoothie instead because the mango has a lot of sugar in it (fruits are naturally high in sugar) but honestly I love mangos and I just wanted it. I drank the entire bottle for breakfast and lunch and felt a bit hungry here and there but nothing unbearable. I also drank water throughout the day (something that I need to drink more of on a daily basis). I ended up going to the gym for 2 hours and walked 2 miles (didn't want to over do it) then weight trained a little (legs) and then went to my zumba step class. After the gym I ate dinner and this is where it got crazy lol. I ordered shrimp and broccoli with white rice from the Chinese restaurant (I know, I know) because I got home so late and just didn't want to cook. As soon as I smelled the food I literally inhaled it in like 5 seconds lol...I was soooo hungry! This my friends was a really bad Idea. As soon as I finished eating...I felt sick and ran to the bathroom to throw up :(...Thank goodness it was only a little but I think that was my lesson of the day. Can't gorge myself after a day of juicing!!! Trust me lesson learned. After that I felt better and didn't have any cravings for the rest of the night. On to Day 2!

I don't know what is going on with me and wanting to do all these challenges all of a sudden lol. Yesterday I started my personal 30 day juicing till dinner challenge. I started this for several reasons and the main one being that I eat pretty crappy (even as a pescatarian) and with my trip to Spain exactly 30 days away, I wanted to start eating better in preparation. I am hoping that after eating healthier for 30 days and it becomes a habit, when I get to Europe I won't over indulge too much. I honestly didn't want to do a true Juicing where I would eliminate everything for the duration because I still plan on working out several times a week (zumba, yoga, running and weight training) and need to maintain my energy...plus in all honesty I'm not about that starvation life. I chose to do "Juicing Til' Dinner" after researching juicing because it seems much more doable to me. I will be juicing all day and then have a sensible dinner at night. I will be (or trying my damnest to) eliminate fried foods, sweets, and alcohol. I'm hoping that at the end of the 30 days that I feel much healthier, less bloated, more energized and focus and I would also like to drop 10 pounds to hit my ideal weight. Hopefully I can stick with it...we'll see :)

So I finally finished the YogaJournal.com 21 day Yoga Challenge and it definitely took me more than 21 days to complete. I didn't realize how hard it was to try and fit Yoga in my busy schedule everyday. With work, going to the gym to weight train, run and do zumba, plus being sick and exhausted some days...it was almost impossible. I did learn and saw the benefits of a daily practice though and will TRY to incorporate yoga in my daily life (or at least several times a week). I also found a great Yoga studio that I joined last week.
I found the Yoga Darshana Center (http://www.yogadarshanacenter.com) while googling affordable yoga studios here on Long Island. I already have a gym membership and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a studio membership. If you ever visited or joined a studio...you know that it is expensive! Usually $20 a class and somewhere between $150-$200 on average for a monthly membership. Because I want to practice at home most days, I just wanted to find a studio where I can go once or twice a week to make sure that I was doing everything accurately. When I saw how affordable this studio was, I decided to give it a try even though it was like 35 mins from my house. I went to my first class on Friday (which was free) and I loved it so much that I signed up for another10 classes right on the spot. The great thing was that those 10 classes only cost me $80!! Jackpot!!!! That's only $8 a class. They also have a better package for $120 for 20 classes ($6 a class) which I think I may get once my 10 classes are up if its still available. If not, regular classes are only $12 which you can't really beat.
Oh and on a side note...I went to my second class yesterday (Sunday) and was super excited because it was an intermediate class that focused on headstands and backbends and I kept up with the class and did great if I do say so myself. I think that was because I have been practicing a lot at home. I finally think that I will be able to stick with Yoga this time around :)
Until next time,

Did I ever mention that this winter has been very bipolar here in New York? Last Saturday was a perfect example. It's been cold all last week and out of nowhere, Saturday was 60 degrees. Never one to pass up a beautiful day, I threw on a vintage dress and vintage fur cape with a pair of Michael Kors heels to run around that day. The crazy thing? the next day (yesterday...Sunday) was freezing! smh....The first day of Spring is in a few days so hopefully it will bring with it warmer weather.
