City Chick Online

Hey dolls!

Welcome to my new blog. My name is Samantha (Sam) Murdock and this is the third, forth...fifth or sixth (I dunno..I really did lose track) installation of City Chick Magazine. City Chick Magazine was started March of 2007 as a blog (ok its 5:25am so if there is any errors, please bear with me :-)...by myself and my friend and business partner Chuck Holliday. After 3 months (and a few firings!) we turned it into a full fledged online magazine...and it was FABULOUS! So fabulous so that we were invited to several Fashion Week Shows in Bryant Park that same September...not bad for a magazine that was less than 6 months old. Anyhow, we kept improving and upgrading and everything was fine (oh I forgot to mention the second set of firings lol!) until it got a little too overwhelming for myself and Chuck to run due to our many, many endeavors. For instance, I am a fulltime model, makeup artist and I just launched a makeup line call Sam Murdock Cosmetic (www.sammurdockcosmetics.com) and Chuck has about 2 million businesses (and still somehow manages to make time for me and everyone else).

So because of my neglect (sorry writers...I had about 2 dozen writers writing for the site) I decided that the best thing to do was to take the site down until I could A) find some time in my already crazy schedule or B) come up with a different way to convey all the things that City Chick Magazine covered but with a twist. I chose B obviously. I also got the idea from a few industry contacts that although they loved the magazine, they wanted to know more about me..the woman behind City Chick. So this is why I decided to launch this blog. I wanted to give daily, first hand account of the life of a true City Chick...so there you have it my loves...well, the cliffnotes version at least...I want to thank you for visiting and I am honored to have you take this journey with me...
