Fall is my favorite time of the year. I am currently in the process of reorganizing my wardrobe and there are a few new items that I must have. For instance, new thigh high boots, a sequin jacket and fingerless gloves. Here are a few that i'm in love with. Click on the link to see them all...

3Lab "M" Cream
By SamCitychick · September 24, 2009 · 0 Comments · 17 Views
I got a sample of 3Lab "M" Cream this past summer while I was attending an event in the Hamptons but didn't try it until a few days ago. I'm usually hesitant about actually trying any new skincare lines because I'm 100% loyal to Aveeno (since their products seems to be the only thing on this planet that works with my sensitive skin). After thorougly reading their brochure, checking their website and researching reviews on countless sites (I go hard for my skin!) I gave it a try and now I'm in love...with a $250 cream...damn!
The "M" Cream is a rich, thick cream that is designed to reduce stress, lift skin and provide a radiant, youthful glow. It's also the first facial cream to contains stem cells from the rare Uttweiler Spatlauber Swiss apple, so rare that only three trees remain in existence! I know...Fancy! It also has Happybelle, a phyto-endorphin, Osilift, an oat-derived anti-wrinkle nutrient and Nano-Claire GY, a bio-engineered growth hormone.
Immediately after using the "M" Cream for the first time, my face felt soft, smooth, hydrated and I looked well rested...and this was before bed! I've been using it for a couple of days now and my skin looks and feels great. Since I have oily skin, I thought that this cream might be a tad too heavy, but that is not the case. Even though its a bit expensive, I do love this cream and do recommend it.

Celebrity Style - Letoya Luckett at J&R MusicFest
By SamCitychick · September 23, 2009 · 0 Comments · 49 Views
I've love Letoya Luckett ever since she was in Destiny's Child...and I love her even more as a solo artist. Letoya was recently here in NYC for J&R MusicFest and she donned this fierce outfit..A sequins top (yes, I do have an obsession with sequins, lets get that out of the way right now), cut off shorts and the Fall's must have thigh high boots. Here's how you can recreate her look:
Lauren Conrad for Kohl's
By SamCitychick · September 21, 2009 · 0 Comments · 42 Views
I am a huge fan of Lauren Conrad's style (because we have very similar tastes when it comes to clothes) and I actually loved her first line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, and was disappointed when I heard that it failed (oh, Im sorry, "put on hiatus"). So, you can imagine my surprise and excitement when I heard that she was partnering up with retail giant Kohls to launch a more affordable line called LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls. I think that unlike her first line, this one will definitely do well because as everyone surmises, her last collection failed not because her clothes weren't hot, but because her prices were just way too high!
Lauren's Kohl's line consists of dresses, tops, and bottoms...all reflective of her California style. The tops in her line are very flowy and trendy and retail between $20 - $44 (she has a blazer in her line that retails for $60). As of right now, she only has 2 dresses in her collection and they both are really, really cute. They retail at $50 and $60. Lauren also has a few jeans, retailing for $54. And of course, she has a pair of high quality black leggings for sale as well that retails for $20.
I'm a tad bit dissappointed though that they are no accessories available as of yet, but knowing how much LC loves her jewelry, belts, bags and shoes, Im pretty sure that she will be adding them soon. Overall, I love the line and its so my style. Its super cute, with trendy and classic pieces and is overall very sophisticated. Here are some of the pieces..you can find more on Kohls.com

The Green Shows at New York Fashion Week
By SamCitychick · September 17, 2009 · 0 Comments · 225 Views
Yesterday I had the honor of being invited to The Green Shows at New York Fashion Week (www.thegreenshows.com) and I was pleasantly surprise! The show featured eco-friendly, ethically sound and fair trade fashions from eco-conscious collections by 7 designers: Bodkin, Izzy Lane, Bahar Shahpar, House Of Organic, Lara Miller, Mr. Larkin, and STUDY by Tara St. James.
The shows, which took place at King of Greene Street at 72 Greene Street in Soho, was a 2 day event sponsored in part by the Rainforest Action Network, who is working with fashion and luxury product companies to reduce the market demand for rainforest trees in packaging.
I was suppose to be there the first day also but I couldn't make it so I missed The Study, Bodkin and Bahar shows but I was able to catch Lara Miller, House of Organic, Mr. Larkin and Izzy Lane. (oh and because I am an absolute genius..I bought my camera but my batteries were dead and all the pics that I took on my blackberry looked like crap...oh well).
My two favorite shows were Lara Miller's (above pic) and Mr. Larkin's (below pic). I loved Lara's line because the clothes were very sexy and sultry. Her collection is made from organic cotton, hand-loomed wild-harvested bamboo, raw silk organza, vegan silk and recycled cotton fibers. The clothes are very flattering and playful. What's so cool about Lara's design on a whole is the fact that most of her garments can be wrapped, reversed, and flipped to reveal an entirely different look. Check out her website at www.laramiller.net to learn more about her and her designs.
Mr. Larkin's Spring 2010 left me speechless. It rocked! Designed by Casey Larkin, Mr. Larkin is a socially responsible and environmentally focused collection inspired by the "magic, mechanics and architecture of the vintage circus". The entire collection uses organic, sustainable or renewable textiles and practices, everything from organic cotton voiles and jersey; peace silk crepes dyed with blackberries, olives, fig leaves, acorn and sour grass; bamboo muslin dyed with madder plants; and tulle made from 100% Ingeo. All dyes are made from plants and vegetables in collaboration with natural artisan dyer, Sasha Duerr. I literally would wear anything from this line...anytime, anywhere. Check out www.mrlarkin.net to learn more about the designer and her line.
The show also made every effort to ensure that the production of the event was eco-friendly as well. John Masters Organics (www.johnmasters.com) was the official hair sponsor and Dex, an organic cosmetic line (www.dexnewyork.com) was the makeup sponsor. They also used energy efficient lighting and recycled, recyclable and compostable products when possible. Nice!
